L'Amour du Cap
Whether your trip is packed with business or filled with fun, we know you are looking for a cosy place to stay at the end of the day. The moment you enter one of our spacious guest rooms you feel comfort that seems not so far from home.
Lovely gardens ensures a tranquil stay. Within walking distance from restaurants and less than five minutes drive from the nine hole golf course, Marloth Park where you can hike through a protected area and Bontebok Nature Reserve where birdwatching is very popular. There are several hiking trails in the vicinity and horse riding is very popular. Our mountain (part of the Langeberg-range) is beautiful all year round.
Swellendam is a popular place to overnight on your way to either the Garden Route or Cape Town.
It is an hour's drive from De Hoop where whales can often be seen. Hermanus, famous for whale watching, is about 130 km away.
Swellendam is the third oldest town in South Africa (after Cape Town and Stellenbosch). It was declared a republic by disgruntled farmers in the 1800's but its independent status didn't last very long. It now forms part of the Overberg Region in the Western Cape. Its Mediterranean climate makes it a popular destination. Many people from Europe, USA and the rest of South Africa have been to Swellendam and have expressed their admiration for the beauty of this clean little village nestling at the foot of the Langeberg.
(Swellendam is the biggest exporter of youngberries in the country)
We offer two en suite-bedrooms as well as three rooms that share a bathroom. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped and very clean.
