The Garrison House Inn

Nestled in historic Annapolis Royal, the oldest town in Canada, c. 1605. The Garrison House Inn circa 1854, offers an old world experience with modern day comforts. It features seven bedrooms, all with private bath ensuite, cable tv/dvd, and AC. We also offer an elegant restaurant serving the finest in local cuisine. In summer, enjoy al fresco dining on our 24-seat screened verandah overlooking historic Fort Anne, and cooled by the sea breezes of the Annapolis Basin.

The Garrison House Inn is a restored heritage property with bright, airy bedrooms overlooking historic Fort Anne.

Our licensed restaurant serves the finest and freshest that the fertile Annapolis Valley and Bay of Fundy have to offer. We choose local organic produce wherever we can. We have been featured in many publications and are open to the public as well as our guests.

The Inn is a short stroll from the beautiful Historic Gardens, museums, theatre, downtown shops and the tidal power project.

The town of Annapolis Royal is located within the beautiful Annapolis Valley and to a number of attractions such as the Upper Clements and Wildlife Park, Kejimkujik National Park, The Port Royal Habitation and much more.

We invite you to savour our tranquil surroundings complimented by our friendly and courteous hospitality.

Our Rooms

All of our bedrooms have private bathroom ensuite, cable tv/dvd, and AC and are all decorated with antiques, and thoughtful finishing touches.

On the second floor there are four rooms:

Room 1 has 2 double beds and it is the largest room in the inn. It features lovely canopy headboards and overlooks the beautiful Fort Anne National Park.

Room 2 with its cozy wing-backed chairs and queen size bed also overlooks the park.

Room 3 has one beautiful canopy double bed. The room is cozy and quiet.

Room 4 is a lovely suite with a queen bedded room, separate sitting room with pull out couch. This enchanting suite is private and very quiet as it faces away from the street. It also has a private deck facing west and has a 2 person jacuzzi.

On the third floor is:

Room 5 is a large room with two beds - one queen and one double with a walk-in dormer window facing the park and Victorian wall paper.

Room 6 boasts victorian wallpaper, a queen bed and the largest bathroom as well as walk-in dormer facing the park.

Room 7 is a funky quiet gem tucked in the rear of the inn with one queen bed, two operable skylights and a wonderful seven foot demi-lune window.

The Garrison House Restaurant

Garrison House has three intimate dining rooms accomodating 45 patrons and a screened verandah facing the Fort. We are open nightly from early May to the end of October and by arrangement in between. Fodor's Guide recomends Garrison house as the best place to eat in the area and Where to Eat in Canada has this to say:

The Garrison House is modest, self effacing and thoroughly genuine. The place was built in 1854 and has one of the two best kitchens in the village, perhaps the best. Patrick Redgrave is at the top of his form with his fresh local seafood and fresh local vegetables - most of which come from a local farm a few miles down the road.
