Ron & Anne Ross take pride in looking after their guests and warmly invite visitors to come and stay in their 17th century former farmhouse, they have restored to a high standard.
We are a fully non smoking residence.
We have three en-suite rooms two double and one twin - all south facing.
Full oil fired central heating.
A hearty breakfast is offered using produce from a local award winning butcher and supplier. Special diets catered for by arrangement.
Coming from the south we are 3 miles north of the village of Shap on the A6
(Junction 39 - M6)
where you will find both attractions like Shap Abbey dating back to 12th century and good pubs offering a wide choice of food and local ales
Coming from the north we are 7 miles south of the pretty market town of Penrith on the A6 (Junction 40 - M6)
At Penrith you will find the Rheged Discovery Centre. Cumbria's leading tourist attraction it's ideal for a wet day, or a half day's break . It is a 12 minute drive away, and offers excellent cafes and shops, as well as 4 films on the giant IMAX screen, and hosts the National Mountain Centre Exhibition.
Carlisle City is approx. 25 miles away and the Scottish borders and Hadrian's wall are both within visiting distance.
For those doing the Land's End - John O'Groats we are about half way and have facilities for bicycles
Nearby we have a Bird of Prey Center, Ullswater (one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful of all the lakes) is approx. 5 miles away. Take a trip on the lake or visit Aira Force
