Rectory Barn Bed & Breakfast
Rectory Barn's original structure dates back to the early 1800s and has had a variety of uses from cattle and horses to fruit storage. It was converted over 20 years ago and the building is in the shape of a capital 'E' with 2 courtyards, as well as a wooded garden.
The hamlet of Howe can be found in the Doomsday Book, and there is evidence that the area was significant in Roman times. Howe was designated a conservation area in 1975.
The Barn is surrounded by fields and provides a peaceful and tranquil place to stay and unwind yet close to many popular visitor attractions. The historic city of Norwich is just a 10 minute drive away, with the Norfolk Broads, the University of East Anglia and the Norfolk Showground, all within easy reach. Norwich Airport is about 25 minutes away. The Suffolk Heritage Coastline (including Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Minsmere and Walberswick) is approximately 40 minutes away. The North Norfolk coastal towns such as Blakeney and Burnham Market are about an hour's drive.
Breakfast includes local produce such as bacon, sausages and eggs, along with home-made bread and a variety of preserves. There is also a selection of fruit, yoghurt and cereals. We can cater for special dietry requirements where we have been given advance notification.
Our rooms are all on the ground floor and there is just one small step to negotiate as you move around the Barn. Reclaimed bricks and wood have been used for the floors and there is a wealth of exposed timber beams creating a delightfully relaxed atmosphere.
Both bedrooms are spacious and provide comfortable accommodation. One has a private bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. The other bedroom can be used as either a double or twin-bedded room and this has an ensuite shower room. Both bedrooms have a tea and coffee tray, TV with DVD facility, hairdryer and a clock radio. WiFi internet access is available throughout the barn.
We accept single occupancy of either room. Children over 10 years old are welcomed.
Parking is in one of our courtyards.
