The Southern Hotel
The Southern once a Merchant's House with it's wide impressive carved staircase, overlooks private grounds in a quiet position but just a stroll away from the beach, Wellington Pier, Leisure Centre, Outer Harbour, Model Village, The Potteries, Time and Tide Museum, Pleasure Beach, Yesterday's World, the model train service and the landaus.
The Southern having undergone a complete refurbishment when purchased 4 years ago is continually being redecorated to keep it in the best of decorative order. In 2007 some rooms have been upgraded to Premier Rooms which have Egyptian cotton sheets, individually chosen bed linen, a mini fridge and Freeview TV. treat yourself you are worth it !
The sunny licensed bar / lounge area has entertainment in the high season for customers enjoyment.
Plentiful home cooked food all sourced locally, is served in the comfortable dining rooms with waitress service with a separate table for each room with a choice of Bed & Breakfast & Bed Breakfast & Evening Dinner
All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are furnished to a high standard with guest's comfort in mind. Each bedroom has a remote colour TV, clock radio and complimentary tea / coffee making facilities
The hotel is fully centrally heated as we are open all year for your convenience and has Free Wireless Internet Access.

How to find us:
Whether using the A47 or A12 enter Great Yarmouth and follow the signs for the seafront. Turn right at the seafront, keeping the sea on your left, go past the Britannia Pier, the Marina Leisure Centre and Wellington Pier, just after the pier you will see the Model Village turn right at the mini roundabout into Kings Road, this becomes queens Road a little way down. The Southern is situated opposite the entrance to the park and overlooking the Navel Hospital.
We have on street parking without permits opposite and when required we have a secure car park remotely to the rear of the hotel. The access number needs to be obtained from reception prior to parking.
Great Yarmouth has undergone a great deal of refurbishment over the last couple of years, along the seafront, Regent Road and the Market Place, with new lighting, seating and paving. The horses and trains now have their own road lane so as not to interfere with traffic and Regent road has been pedestrianised for visitors safety. At night Regent Road has a canopy of blue lights to enhance your evening stroll.
For the animal lovers amongst you, just a short ride away, we have Africa Wild life park, Thrigby Wildlife, Petitts Farm and on the seafront Amazonia and the Sealife Centre.
In the main season you can take a boat ride from the jetty to see the sea lion colony. A trip on the Southern Belle from Haven Bridge will take you on Braden Water where more wild life can be seen.
Norwich is only half an hour away for the lovely architecture and the shops!
