Postgate Farm

Postgate Farm is a south facing, 17th century listed farmhouse and offers 4-Diamond B&B accommodation as well as a Studio Flat for those who prefer to cater for themselves.

It is situated approximately 1.5 miles along the dale from the village of Glaisdale within the North York Moors National Park, and occupies an elevated position on the north side of this attractive moorland dale.

There are many interesting and historic places to visit and we are ideally situated for those who enjoy walking in beautiful countryside.

The romantic Beggars Bridge is only two miles away and from there a walk through Arncliffe woods will take you to Egton Bridge with its picturesque salmon pool and giant redwood trees.

A short drive away is the village of Goathland, better known as 'Aidensfield' of TV's Heartbeat drama series, where many familiar locations can be seen.

The North York Moors Steam Railway also stops here and offers a nostalgic journey through stunning scenery.

The historic fishing port of Whitby is less than 10 miles away and the areas' smuggling history is much in evidence along the miles of heritage coastline which also forms part of the Cleveland Way long distance walk.

Accommodation

Traditional farmhouse bed and breakfast service which offers a choice of rooms, either double or twin beds, comfortably furnished with en suite facilities, TV, courtesy tray, hairdryer and clock/radio. Guests have the benefit of their own key to their rooms.

Guests also have the benefit of a private lounge, dining room and small kitchen, equipped with fridge and microwave, ideal for preparing those picnic lunches.

At the front of the farmhouse is a sheltered, south facing patio and lawned area equipped with picnic tables and chairs for guests to relax in the sun and enjoy the stunning views over the dale. A gas barbeque is avilable for hire for those who enjoy eating alfresco style.

A games room equipped with snooker/pool table, table tennis and darts, is available free for the use of guests.

Bedroom 1 is situated at the front of the house and benefits from a double bed with views from the front of the farmhouse across the dale. This is a very comfortable room with en-suite Shower & w.c. & handbasin, tea and coffee making facilities, TV and clock/radio

Bedroom 2 is also situated at the front of the house and provides twin beds with views from the front of the farmhouse across the dale. This is a very comfortable room with en-suite Bath & w.c. & handbasin, tea and coffee making facilities, TV and clock/radio.
