The Cornmill
Feel your cares drift away as you cross the bridge over the Mill Race, and let Karen & Chris Tinkler give you a warm welcome to The Cornmill, a sympathetically converted 18th Century Watermill and Victorian farmhouse providing tranquil, well-appointed bed & breakfast and self-catering cottage accommodation in a peaceful village setting.
The Cornmill gives you convenient access to a vast range of attractions and activities across the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast, and southwards via Castle Howard to York (only 26 miles away), or you can relax in our large gardens and paddocks, lying alongside the River Dove.
The farmhouse contains the large (non smoking) bedrooms with four poster king-size, double or twin beds. All rooms are provided with an ensuite bath and / or powerful shower and WC as well as TV and coffee and tea making facilities. Fluffy towels and feather duvets (non-allergenic can be provided) help to complete the feeling of comfort and relaxation. The Guest lounge has a self-serve honesty bar and a wood burning stove.
We also have a boot room for wet coats and walking boots, and can provide secure storage for cycles. Our sumptuous breakfasts and pre-booked candlelit dinners are served in the Mill, which also has a glass-floored viewing panel over the millrace. Whenever possible, we use eggs from our own flock and our own, homegrown vegetables, backed up by locally sourced produce.
Self-catering is provided in the stable mews cottages located in the courtyard alongside the farmhouse and Mill. The well-appointed accommodation comes with linen and towels, TV, video, mini-hi-fi & central heating included. Bed & bathrooms are downstairs, and the living room upstairs.
Meals can be provided in the Millhouse by arrangement.
