Harbottle, an historic village in the Northumberland National Park, has a pub and surgery. The ancient ruins of Harbottle castle, built to strengthen the Border defences, overlooks the Reivers Way along the Coquet Valley. Harbottle's location in central Northumberland and at the foothills of the Cheviouts, is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers, and within easy reach of Alnwick Castle & Gardens and just 15 minutes from the popular village of Rothbury.
Northumberland National Park offers glimpses of ancient landscapes and wilderness found nowhere else in England. You'll hear the haunting cries of the curlew and, if you're lucky, spot the red squirrel in one of the few places left in England where it survives.
Northumberland has a magnificent coastline with wide sandy beaches, quaint villages and dramatic castles. There's so much to see and do!
