Central base for Granville, Coutances, St.Lo, Avranches and Vire. All within 30 mins.
D-Day beaches within an hour (Omaha) Utah about an extra 20 mins on top of that.
At Granville you can catch the ferry to Jersey as a foot passenger for that extra day out. Drive down the coast and there are beaches and a Golf links course.

All the main towns have large supermarkets where you can shop for your wine. So much choice.

Villedieu is only 10 mins away. Famous for its copper shops and musems Bars and restaurants are plentiful.

Just a bit further on takes you a very pleasant Zoo at Champreus.
Mont st Michael for a day out about 45mins away. Carry on to Concalve and try the fresh oysters from the end of the jetty. A small fishing village with numerous fish restaurants. That bit further again and your at St. Malo which really needs a full day out to make sure you don't miss anything. Yet again you can get the ferry to Jersey from here.

Fancy a city visit, then head for Rennes. Want to go to Paris but dont want to drive. Then you can catch a train from Villedieu Station. Most weekends through out the Summer months the local towns and villages take it in turn to hold their own Vide Grenier (boot sale)..They really make it a family event.

Horse racing and Trotting some afternoon some evening meetings. Many courses within easy reach. Go karting, ten pin bowling and crazy golf all within easy reach.
You really need a car to get around.

But nearest airport is at Dinard. 75 minutes away.
If you want to be adventurous then there's plenty to see and do. If you want a lazy laid back break then you can.
Ferries; Caen about an hour away, Cherbourg hour and twenty minutes.
