Maison de Poitiers, Lot et Garonne

Maison de Poitiers is situated on the corner of a medieval square in the 12th century Bastide village of Castillonnes, in the Lot et Garonne. The Lot et Garonne area is famous for its food, wine, history and its unspoilt beautiful countryside.

The building started life as a hotel for horse traders in the late 18th century but for the last 40 years or so it has been used as a private family home.

In 1961 the building was featured in the French movie Tout L'or Du Monde (All the gold in the world) starring Rene Clair and Bourvil.

We could tell you about life in a tranquil 12th century village located high on a hill in South-West France.

We could mention the architecture, the friendliness of the local people, the abundance of local produce and the oh so gentle pace of life.

Breakfast is served in the dining room and on the terrace in the warmer months of the year. There is a delicious selection of freshly baked bread and pastries direct from the bakers oven.
