Maison des Ribieres

Maison des Ribieres is situated in the northern part of Charente and is the ideal base for exploring both the charente and its neighbouring departments; vienne and haute vienne.

We have a wide range of accommodation to suit all your tastes, ranging from single rooms, double rooms, family suits and even a self-contained appartement.

Single room 35 euros the night.
Double room 45 euros the night.
Family suite comprises childrens bedroom, parents bedroom and private en-suite bathroom 75 euros the night.

Breakfast is included in the price and is not to be missed. We offer a choice of cereals, croissants, baguette, homemade jams and marmalades, fruit, compotes and yoghurt accompanied by freshly brewed tea or coffee and fresh orange juice!

Tea and coffee facilities are available throughout the day in our dining room.

Evening meals are available on request.

For those who wish to try a taste of traditional french cuisine - Alain, our french chef is capable of concocting the most incredible french gastronomy - he really is a genius!

We have an endless collection of pamphlets and books of things to do, see and visit in and around the locality and are happy to help you arrange your itineraries, and reservations.

Just a few minutes walk takes you into the heart of medieval Confolens, where you will find a choice of shops, banks, bars and restaurants with riverside terraces, post office, cinema an english restaurant and a fish & chip shop.

On site we have a small animal farm and guests are welcome to come and touch our animals. At present we have two goats and babies. Come and watch at milking time, perhaps you would like to try some fresh goats milk? (Don't worry - we serve cows milk at breakfast).

We raise rare breeds of hens and rabbits. Come and touch and stroke our Geant Rabbits that can weigh as much as 8 kilos!!

We have a lovely terrace behind the house, surrounded by flowered borders, with a barbecue available for client use.

Alternatively, take tea on the lawn in the side garden, under leafy trees.

If the weather is disappointing or you are looking for evening indoor activities, we have a wide range of French and English literature, family games: Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Uno etc and a full size indoor table tennis table.
