Cela: Approx 8 Kilometres from our Cortijo

This is a natural hot salt water spring you can swim all year round in its lovely warm water for free. The Balsa also has numerous Carp and other fish swimming with you. There are a number of tapas bars and restaurants sited around the balsa offering a variety of good food during the summer months.

Baza: Approx 35 Kilometres from our Cortijo

Baza market town sits at an altitude of 844 metres above sea level and has a population of around 21,600; accounting for almost 50% of the overall 45,000 population of the entire region of Baza. One of the most appreciated aspects of this magical town of Baza is the towering mountain just 12 kilometres away, which dominates the landscape like a protective watchtower, known as Mount Jabalcón.

This natural backdrop of the surrounding mountains of the Sierra de Baza and the Sierra de Castril is simply breathtaking. When taking it all in, it is hard to believe that you are a mere 107 kilometres from Granada City and not more than an hour's drive from the busy coast. On Wednesday's the town has its weekly market.

Embalse de Negratin is an artificial water reservoir near Baza in the Province of Granada.

There is a fabulous restaurant right on the shore line offering a wide variety of food, whilst on the beach you can hire out pedalos in the main season at approx 5 euros / hour. There is a huge selection of fish to also be had from this lake but a license has to be given before you can take advantage of this

Mojácar:
Mojácar is just 1 hours drive away north of Serón and is a beautiful medieval town stretching back more than 4,000 years in history. To this day the old town of Mojácar resembles a Moroccan Village. The Beach front (Mojácar Playa) boasts 7KM of golden sun kissed sandy beaches. At the southern end of the playa, known locally as Tower Beach, you can find privacy within the quiet coves. These are also frequented by the local fishermen sourcing their catches.

Just outside Mojácar is the stunning water park (Parque Acuatico Vera) an oasis of fun and flumes for all ages.
