Galician Spain, right above Portugal, is a fresh and verdant land that has gushing rivers and countryside views more reminiscent of Scotland than Spain. The weather is cooler than other parts of Spain, but it has an age-old magical atmosphere, which travellers can share in.

Explore the many historic sites like; Celtic Hill-forts, Cathedrals, small Churches & Castles (the later three types of monuments can date as far back as the 9th century). The Wines of the Ribeira Sacra deserve a special mention. Numerous wine cellars dedicated to the production of first class, quality wines are located along the riverbanks.

If you live in the U.K. you can fly from Liverpool, or London Stanstead to Santiago de Compostela with Ryanair at bargain rates. Our house is only some 60 miles away from the airport.

Our house is over century old and has been renovated in the traditional Galician style. We can offer either B&B or half board.

In addition we have contacts in the area to offer you various activities, like quads, horse riding and walking. We have mountain bikes for hire. There is a local river beach to cool off on during those hot days. Alternatively you can visit one of the many ancient villages with their Romanesque style churches, visit cities like nearby Lugo with a complete circle of Roman fortification wall, some 2 km long.

We are also located just a 60 mins car ride away from the most famous location in Galicia Santiago de Compostela.
