The Pillars is a modern Mediterranean style country manor offering boutique accommodation.

The Pillars is Rated 4 Stars Plus [4 and a half stars] by Qualmark New Zealand's only official rating agency.

There are 4 upstairs guest suites all with ensuite bathrooms. The beds are king/twin in The Sunset Suite and The Tauhara Suite has super king/twin and 2 rooms have Californian king/twin beds. These are The Bonshaw and Pillars Suites. The largest suite The Pillars has a raised bath as well as a stand-alone shower. 3 rooms have balconies.

All rooms have tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, TV, radio, under floor heating. There is complimentary beer and wine in the rooms on arrival as well as fresh fruit, home cooking and bottled water. There are gowns and slippers, ironing board and iron. The ensuite have a plentiful supply of towels as well as toiletries and hair dryer. All the rooms are large with plenty of room for bags and clothing. Breakfast is continental with home made breads and yoghurt as well as hot dishes.

The Pillars is set in 3 acres of park like grounds with a pond, gazebo, in ground pool and full size tennis court. There are rural, lake and mountain views and enjoys magic sunsets.

The Pillars is helicopter friendly for those that want to explore the area by air and a short drive to taupo township as well as golf courses, trout fishing, boating, hiking [tongariro alpine crossing, sky diving, rafting, bungy, hot pools, jet boating as well as geothermal areas. Taupo is approx 3 and a half hours from Auckland and is an ideal base to visit Rotorua ,Napier and the Waitomo Caves

The Pillars is NON SMOKING inside, will provide a 3 course dinner with advanced notice and is NOT SUITABLE FOR PETS or YOUNG CHILDREN The pillars can organise any activities you may wish to undertake and with notice and if available in room massages. There are also massages and other treatments at the nearby hot pools
