It is the perfect place to stay while exploring the local area and it's many activities and places of interest.

Set in 29 acres of idyllic private gardens and wooded walks on the shores of Loch Awe, this magnificent Georgian country mansion commands spectacular views over the water and the hills and mountains of Ben Cruachan and Ben Lui in mid Argyll.

Eredine House, with its private Loch Awe shoreline and 2 hill lochs, is the ideal location for a fishing holiday in Scotland, and is a wonderful setting for some of the finest game and coarse fishing in Britain. Loch Awe is steeped in history and its magical landscape amid the rugged Scottish West Highland scenery make it one of the most picturesque and peaceful stretches of inland freshwater in Scotland. For wild brown trout and pike, Loch Awe is an unrivalled location for the beginner and seasoned angler alike. It can boast of being one of the best brown trout fisheries in Europe and holds the record for rod-caught trout.

Eredine House is one of the few places on Loch Awe offering launching facilities and boats can be hired locally by calling Norman's boat hire on 01866 844209. Other activities available nearby are pony trekking and horse riding at Inveraray, Ardrishaig and Ardfern, golf at Dalmally golf, Inveraray golf or Lochgilphead golf, boating, cycling, hill walking, hiking, farm trails, spectacular ferry tours and cruises, or Gemini Cruises operates from Crinan Harbour in Argyll and runs regular leisure and wildlife cruises and a water taxi service to many locations in the area including Loch Craignish, the Sound of Jura, Gulf of Corryvreckan, Scarba, the Garvellachs and the MacCormaig Islands, Islay and Colonsay.

Wildlife adventures can be experienced with Seafari and local wildlife can be observed at The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary in Oban and at the Oban Rare Breeds Park. Fascinating days out also include the incredable Cruachan Power station built within Ben Cruachan Mountain.

The exquisite and unspoilt scenery of Eredine, make it an enchanted haven for walks, bird watching, painting, writing and nature lovers. Its 29 acres of grounds have an abundance of cultivated and wild flowers, native trees and wild life. The gardens change dramatically throughout the year - there are masses of snowdrops that herald the New Year followed by thousands of daffodils. May brings cherry blossom, wild garlic and bluebells followed by the stunning sight of the azaleas and rhododendrons that bloom in June. In autumn the trees are ablaze with colour and make a truly breathtaking sight and winter brings days so crisp and clear that the reflection of the water mirrors the land so vividly, it is difficult to tell where it begins.

This part of Scotland is renowned for it's beautiful Gardens of Argyll. Although in a peaceful rural location, Eredine House is the ideal base from which to explore Argyll's many places of historical interest. The famous Kilchurn Castle is a short drive away as are Dunstaffnage, Barcaldine, Dunollie and Inveraray Castles, Inveraray Jail. The gardens and ruins at Ardchatan Priory and the prehistoric and medieval monuments and museum in Kilmartin are worth a visit. You can also take a ferry from the bustling town of Oban (50 minute drive from Eredine), and visit the Western Isles of Mull, Iona, Staffa and Islay for the day. The perfect Vacation!
