Ailsa Cottage Bed & Breakfast
A Victorian cottage once owned by local shipmasters now refurbished to provide charming accommodation with every effort made to ensure the comfort of guests.
En-suite facilities ensure privacy and comfort.
Rooms are beautifully furnished with fresh and contemporary linens, new carpets, attractive lighting and well stocked refreshment trays. Hairdryers and Irons, etc are all available on request.
Ailsa cottage is a few minutes drive from Cairnryan Port and approximately ten minutes drive from Stranraer Port. Lifts are available by prior arrangement from P & O port at Cairnryan.
The village is steeped in naval history - the HMS Ark Royal and the old pier used for embarkation of military service personnel during the war.
Today Cairnryan facilitates countless travellers to and from Ireland on the shortest sea route across to Larne. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil sights of a variety of fine vessels sail through the loch. Fishermen also enjoy local catch and bird watchers are more than catered for.
Nearby in Stranraer and in surrounding areas garden lovers are tempted by beautiful formal gardens and garden centres. Locally in the village, the gardens at the rear of the Victoria Buildings row are unusual in their tiered construction allowing views out over the houses to the loch beyond.
'We love your B and B, you are the sweetest couple! Truly a wonderful B and B with hospitality unmatched. You are a bright oasis in the heart of Scotland' - Sam and Jean, Salt Lake City, Utah.
