A warm welcome awaits you at Lothian Guest House which offers three double rooms all ensuite, one of which is twin bedded. Full Scottish breakfast is served in the dining room from 7am til 9am.
We offer private secure parking at the rear of the Guest House and well behaved pets are welcome.
We are conveniently situated for both the ferry and train terminals and are about 100 yards from the Ryan Centre, which offers many leisure facilities and also concerts.
The area around this part of Scotland is very popular with visitors .Some of the interests are bird watching, fishing, and hill walking. The village of Portpatrick is about 6 miles away is a pretty seaside village and also the start of the Southern Upland Way.
We are spoiled for choice with an abundance of beautiful gardens to visit and many tropical plants can be found growing in the area due to affect of the Gulf Stream.
There is also a good selection of Golf Courses and Bowling Greens who all welcome visitors.
The ferries to Belfast and Larne leave from Stranraer and Cairnryan, which is about 3 miles away, and both offer reasonable day excursion tickets to visit Ireland. You can also include a bus tour to see some of the many places of interest.
A short drive south from Stranraer takes you to The Mull of Galloway where you can climb the lighthouse, which is the most southerly point in Scotland. From here the views are magnificent and include on a clear day, the Isle of Man.
There are many excellent restaurants to be found locally, with specialties from fish to Italian dishes.
