Overlooking The Firth of Forth we have uninterrupted views from our lounge or outside deck towards Edinburgh and the coastlines of Lothian and Fife, then on further to The North Sea.
During the summer the QE2 & other large cruise ships are berthed outside our home & many cruise ships and sailing boats pass by.
9 East Bay B&B is a one story comfortable and cosy bungalow. It is a wonderful place to stay and the views are quite magnificent.
Our quality Scottish Bed and Breakfast accommodation is ideally situated for visiting Fife, St. Andrews, Perth and Kinross, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Sunrise over the forth Why stay in Edinburgh with all the hassle of parking and noise, when you can stay at tranquil '9 East Bay,' and yet be right in the centre of Edinburgh in 20 minutes by train, (there is a train station in the village), or car. Both routes take you across the Firth of Forth via the world famous Forth Bridges!
We are just 5 minutes drive from the Rosyth - Zeebrugge Ferry Terminal; and a 2 hour drive from The Newcastle Ferries.
We have 2 delightful well behaved dogs, and are a dog friendly B&B
In February 2007 there were sightings of a pod of Orca Whales off shore from our B&B. We also sometimes see porpoise so come and Whale Watch with us!!
North Queensferry is a charming place to stroll about. There's the ruin of St. James' Chapel recently designated as an Ancient Monument The Old Town Pier where the Ferry Boats used to sail from & St. James' Harbour. A leaflet describing the village can be found in your room. No one can possibly miss the Forth Rail Bridge that commands the view of all, completed in 1890 it is often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The Fife Coastal Footpath is on our doorstep, offering more fantastic views over the Firth of Forth.
We also have Deep Sea World, Scotland's largest aquarium, a short walk from the house. If you enjoy bird watching, then you're in for a treat as there are a wide variety of birds that visit this little village, from waders to Peregrine Falcons!!
Both Gordon Brown (Chancellor of The Exchequer) and Ian Banks (Author) live in the village..
Dunfermline: Try the Carnegie Hall for live shows and concerts. Visit Andrew Carnegie's' birth-place museum, discover how the great American-Scot lived and worked, or Abbot House, Dunfermlines' oldest house
St. Andrews: Ancient Capital of Scotland, and Home of Golf
Kirkaldy: The Adam Smith Theatre offers a variety of programmes, and the Kirkaldy Museum and Art Gallery gives you an opportunity to view life as it was lived in Fife.
Edinburgh & Stirling: There are castles (notably Edinburgh and Stirling) and lochs, museums and battle sites - Stirling Bridge (William Wallace) and Bannockburn (King Robert the Bruce), which all Scots love to talk about.
