The Carlton Guest House
Attractively situated on the esplanade, with outstanding panoramic views over Largs bay and across the Firth of Clyde to the Isles of Cumbrae, Arran and Bute, The Carlton offers a friendly welcome.
Built in 1891, this listed building forms part of what was originally Carlton Terrace, and is a superb example of a town house of the period.
The Victorians first popularised Scotland's West Coast as a holiday destination, and there is evidence that the Carlton has been busy welcoming visitors as a hotel or guest house for most of its history.
Every effort has been made to maintain both the original character of the house and its long tradition of welcome and comfort.
In the elegant Dining Room, Margaret's full Scottish breakfast provides perfect preparation for the busiest of days. Upstairs, the intimate Residents' Lounge offers
comfort, large-screen TV and an uninterrupted view over the bay.
Every room has a wash-basin, hair dryer, tea & coffee-making set and a television
