The beautiful golden oak of the original hardwood floors, built-in cabinets, benches, bookcase, and oak staircase on the first floor exudes a warmth that makes you feel immediately welcomed and at home when you enter Quill Haven Country Inn.

The Bed and Breakfast's Common Living Room is equipped with a small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink so you have access to coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours a day.

The refrigerator is stocked with soda and we offer a complimentary glass of wine in the evening.

You can spend a cozy evening in front of the fireplace reading a book or watching a movie from our well-stocked libraries. Feel free to relax in the outdoor hot tub located on the private backyard deck anytime during your stay.

Savor the full breakfast that is served between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. in the bright, cheerful Sunroom with its large stained glass window and oak trim.

During our travels over the years, whether for business or pleasure, we always made it a point to lodge in a B&B or Country Inn whenever possible.

While we had many great experiences and hold many fond memories of the places in which we stayed, we also realized that, at times, we were giving up some of the services and conveniences that were available to us during our stays at major hotels. So, we decided to build our business around the goal of providing our guests with all the charm and ambiance of a high quality Bed and Breakfast without asking them to sacrifice many of the modern conveniences and guest services common to the hotel industry.

In addition, we wanted to provide the first time Bed & Breakfast guest with a positive, desirable experience that would keep them coming back time after time.

With this goal in mind, we built our own living quarters onto the back of the inn to ensure that guests would not feel uncomfortable having to share our private space or the TV remote! We offer ample, well-lighted off-street parking and can secure bikes and skis in our barn.

For those initially arriving late and anyone partying out on the town, we installed a keyless entry system at the front door so you don't have to worry that you are keeping us up waiting.

There is a private bath in each room so no one has to share bathroom facilities.

All rooms have deadbolt locks on the doors that are individually keyed. The walls between the rooms were soundproofed to ensure maximum privacy. All rooms have individually controlled heated mattress pads to fend off those chilly mountain nights and air conditioners for those hot summer days. Hair dryers and alarm clocks are found in every room and cosmetic items are available if you forget yours.

Each room has a color television set with cable, including premium channels and a VCR, in case you are not in the mood to socialize in the Common Room. A cordless phone is available which can be used in the privacy of your own room.

Laundry facilities and fax services are also available for a nominal fee.

All of the rooms have new private baths with showers, air conditioning, ceiling fans, color cable television with premium channels, VCR's and heated mattress pads with dual controls so no one has to argue over the settings.

Many have hand stitched quilts adorning the beds and all have handmade stained glass lamps to add a warm glow to the surroundings.

Each has it's own unique personality and theme offering a variety from which to choose.

Quill Haven Country Inn Bed and Breakfast is located one mile from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit 10 Somerset in the heart of the beautiful, scenic Laurel Highlands.

We are within 5 to 45 minutes of such a wide range of activities and experiences that everyone is guaranteed to find something that interests them.

Downhill and cross-country skiing, snow tubing and sleigh rides can be enjoyed at Hidden Valley, Seven Springs, and Laurel Mountain Ski Resorts.

There is stockcar racing at the Jennerstown Raceway and excellent summer theatre at the Mountain Playhouse. Tours are available of two of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpieces, Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob.

There are numerous state parks such as Ohiopyle, Laurel Hill and Laurel Ridge for those who like hiking and exploring.

The Allegheny Highlands Rails to Trails winds it's way through several towns within minutes of Somerset for those who enjoy biking or walking. White water rafting, kayaking and canoeing are additional options at Ohiopyle State Park and swimming and boating are enjoyed at the Youghiogheny Reservoir.
