Velog Bed & Breakfast Guest House

Velog sits in the sleepy backwater of Borth-y-Gest, nestling on the shores of the Glaslyn Estuary with a backdrop of magnificent mountains of Cnicht, the Moelwyn and the Rhinogs. We have golden sandy beaches sweeping down to the sea. The sandy bays are safe for swimming and water sports. At the back of the village there are scenic walks through mature woods and lush green valleys.

The cliff path meanders through woods and drops down in several places to three separate sandy coves.

The National Park offer our guest a wide variety of activities and attractions from the Italianate village of Portmeirion, the Ffestiniog railway and the WelshHighland railways, which will be connected together in 2009, so visitors will be able to travel from Caernarfon to Porthmadog and beyond to Blaenau Ffestinog - a must for the train buff. Castles of Harlech, which can be seen from the cliff tops, Criccieth, Caernarfon and Beaumaris.

Mount Snowdon and its village of Llanberis. Lake Padarn and its visitors centre - see the miners hospital with all its equipment which shut in the 1950's and is now a museum. See the deep diving centre where the divers dive down the clear water to the mine working below. There are many attractions too numerous to detail, but all within 30 - 40 minutes from Velog

Velog has three double bedded rooms all en-suite. The house if fully centrally heated, and all rooms are on the first floor. One of the rooms has a full bathroom with bath and the other two have shower en-suite facilities.

The house has been sympathetically decorated throughout and maintains alot of the original features. The accommodation is both relaxing and spacious.

We have no curfew at Velog, guest have their own room and front door keys. They can come and go whenever they please either by day or night.

Our terms are strictly cash only and is payable either at the start or end of your stay. Rates are £50.00 per room per night for two persons sharing a room. Single occupancy is £50.00 per room. Discounted rates available for long stays. WE DO NOT TAKE ONE NIGHT BOOKINGS - minimum stay is two nights. All prices are inclusive of breakfast.
