Situated on C19 between Mariental and Sesriem or Helmeringhause and Solitair. 60 kilometres from Duwiseb Castle, 120 km from Sesriem and 110km from Mariental, on route from Luderitz to Walvis Bay and to the North, nearest town to Leliepan the famous water plant that only appears when rain more than 20mm falls in the pan.

Maltahohe are a small friendly town to rest in before you tackle the gravel roads into the desert, Maltahohe are situated in the south of Namibia but ideal stopover on you way to the coast or to the north of Namibia or if travelling to SA it is perfectly situated on your way.

Maltahohe overs a petrol station and repair shop and two perfect shops ( AGRA and Woerman & Brock also a pep stores.), If you approach from Luderitz it is perfectly situated to stop over on your way to Sossusvlei or Swakop Mmund, if you are approaching from the western side it is a perfect stopover on your way to Sossus vlei or Duwiseb Castle or to the coast ( Walvis Bay / Swakop Mund or Luderitz) on the route to lodges such as Solitair or Sossusvlei or Helmering house or Burgsdorf.

Maltahohe are near Gideon the town of Hendrik Witbooi, Maltahohe has a hospital and a police station and the areas magistrate court, the town has access to internet and Wi-Fi, the main language of the area is Afrikaans and Namma, The population are mainly Christian's and has 14 different churches
