A mere 2 1/2 hours drive from Johannesburg, Boschfontein is an easily accessible weekend break or ideally central point from which to explore the nearby town of Thabazimbi, Marakele National Park and the local attractions.
Our guest house is beautifully located with superb views over the Waterberg mountain range as well as views over open plains teaming with impala, kudu, blesbuck, ostrich, baboons, warthog and wildebeests. Over 100 bird species are found in the area and these can be seen in the typically bushveld flora.
Hilton and Shirley will welcome you with their warm hospitality and farm style culinary faire. Guests will enjoy hearty breakfasts, lovely walks and relaxing around the sparkling pool. Lunches and dinners are available by arrangement.

An open air vehicle can be arranged for game viewing and impala, blesbuck, zebra, eland, nyala, gemsbok, kudu, bushbuck, warthog, blue wildebees, ostrich, steenbok, duiker, vervet monkey, chacma baboon, banded mongoose and numerous bird species can be spotted.
Night drives enable you to spot some of the nocturnal animals such as bush babies, porcupine and leopard as well as wonderful stellar formations.
Marakele National Park
One of the most beautiful parks in South Africa, the name Marakele, means 'Place of Sanctuary' in Setswana. The park is located 8km from Boschfontein. This is one of the prime attractions to the region.
Vulture Restaurant
The vulture restaurant is a must for the avid bird watcher.
Pilanesberg Game Reserve
It is located just 120km from Boschfotein.
Large mammals resident in the Pilanesberg include lion, hippo, elephant, white rhino, black rhino, buffalo, leopard, crocodile and most of the plains game species.
