Holdsworth House
The Holdsworth House was built in 1783-84 by James Addington Holdsworth, an Empire Loyalist. His family continued to live here until 1998. We have restored this home, giving guests the opportunity to experience a household of the 18th century. We have 3 guest rooms, with private ensuite and individual climate controls. Hair dryers and toiletries provided. There are two parlours to relax in, play games, or read.
As a guest, you can book an 18th century open-hearth cooking class, then enjoy the feast you prepared in the restored 1780's kitchen fireplace.
You can try your skills at spinning wool in the Ladies Parlour.
Enjoy a beverage outside, overlooking the Bay of Fundy, and watch the Scallop Fleet come and go. View for yourselves, the effects of the hightest tides in the world, right from the backyard.
A short drive will take you to Point Prim Lighthouse, overlooking the open Bay of Fundy, one finalist in the 'Natural Wonders of the World' contest.
If you prefer to leave the guess work out for your evening meal, we can take care of that for you also.
Whale-watching packages can be arranged, we work with two different tour groups to offer you two totally different experiences. One with a traditional tour boat, the other with a zodiac tour.
The Holdsworth House is only minutes away from Annapolis Royal and Upper Clements Amusement Park. The Digby Pines Golf course is just 1km away. Tee-off times can be arranged for you. We are a short drive from the National Park 'Kedgi'. Here you can rent canoes or kayaks, or spend the day hiking the many trails.
If you have an early ferry connection, we will prepare a breakfast picnic for you to take with you.
Bicycle rental are available onsite, $15/day, including helmet.
