Manor Cottage B&B, Old Windsor
A warm welcome awaits you at Jan and Richard’s delightful 18th Century house. Afternoon tea or coffee, and homemade cake in the sitting room in front of the log fire in winter. Or in summer sit underneath the vine-covered pergola...wander round the garden or out into the paddock and play games (croquet can be so cruel!) or just sit in the sunshine. Maybe the fork-tailed red kites will be circling overhead.
Standards of comfort and food are high but the atmosphere is very relaxed as Jan and Richard will do all they can to make your stay as pleasant and rich an experience as possible.
The house and gardens are lovely. In spring the wild garlic and bluebells are a delight and later the mature plants and borders give lots of colour with plenty of hidden places to sit and relax. The village is a mile and a half from Windsor and sits between Windsor Great Park, Runnymede and the River Thames.
There are three characterful bedrooms available; however as this is our family home we generally just let out two bedrooms at any one time.
Guests have their own large sitting room. Free Wi-Fi is available. Television and games.
There are two en-suite bedrooms. Both rooms have their own coffee/tea making facilities; a fridge, hair drier and television.
There’s also a “twin” room that can accommodate three people. This has its own private bathroom with a large cast iron claw foot bath/shower.
We also have a lovely, original Gypsy Caravan with a cosy double bed, and where candles and lanterns provide the lighting.
Located a 5-minute drive from Windsor and 20 minutes’ drive from London Heathrow Airport. Manor Cottage is convenient whether you are working in the area or visiting the many nearby attractions. There is a cycle path into Windsor and bikes are often available to borrow free of charge.
