'Halcyon' is an attractive granite house situated in a private road and is over 100 years old. Convenient for all amenities, tastefully furnished with a high standard of comfort, cleanliness and plentiful food.

We are a non smoking Guest House and have free parking in the square.

Penzance is an ideal base for touring West Cornwall and it's breathtaking scenery, majestic cliffs, rocky coves, pristine sandy beaches and crystal clear seas. Antiquities, rolling moors and rugged coastline.

Mounts Bay has been acclaimed as one of the 'Most Beautiful Bays in the World' with the Lizard Peninsular in the background and at the heart of it you can visit the magnificent St. Michael's Mount, Walk the wonderful coastal paths and visit Lands End. The Land's End peninsula is noted for its wealth of ancient monuments, including Neolithic chamber tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and standing stones, Iron Age forts, medieval wayside and prehistoric field systems.

The dramatic ruins of mine engine houses, symbols of the once great Cornish trade of tin and copper mining. You can book a day trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat, plane or helicopter. Penzance's south facing aspect and mild climate has nurtured the sub-tropical Morrab Gardens and the peaceful Penlee Memorial Park. Both lie between the centre of the town and the seafront.

The refurbished Penlee House Art Gallery and Museum in Penlee Park has an outstanding collection of works of art and has archaeological and local history sections. Penzance is an ideal town to explore on foot, the olde worlde Chapel Street winds down between attractive buildings that include the lavishly painted and ornamented Egyptian House, the 14th century Turks Head, the Admiral Benbow restaurant and the final flourish of the tall tower of the Church of St Mary the Virgin.

There are many wonderful gardens in the area, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project.
