Kirkwood Guest House in the Lake District
Kirkwood Guest House in the English Lake District.
We are ideally positioned for exploring the Lakeland area. Situated on a quiet corner, in between Windermere and Bowness, two busy holiday towns. Mags and Boyd are looking forward to welcoming you to their friendly Lakeland Guest House.
Kirkwood Guest House is a family run Guest House.
A strictly non smoking facility with a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome feeling.
We have been trading for 16 years at Kirkwood, and we were recommended for the inclusion in the 'Which Best Bed & Breakfast', winning a Gold award. We were also recommended for the 'Michelin Guide'.
The house is warm and tastefully decorated. All rooms are en-suite, with two four-poster rooms. All rooms have colour TV, and tea and coffee making facilities.
All rooms are strictly for non smokers. There is a ground floor room suitable for the not-so-mobile. Our comfortable lounge is available for you to use at any time.
There is an enormous variety of eating houses in the nearby
Windermere and Bowness for evening meals, so your day is not tied with a strict time for dinner.
Many local pubs serve superb, reasonable priced bar meals, and some have the most interesting local and international beers for you to try out.
So for a holiday with a difference in splendid surroundings both indoors and out, choose Kirkwood Guest House, and your hosts Boyd and Mags will make sure you are not disappointed.
Kirkwood Guest House is open all year and as well as our normal tariff we offer off-season and Christmas breaks.
We will provide an ideal base for your Lake District holiday. Autumn, Winter, and Spring holidays can be particularly enjoyable with bright clear days, or mysterious foggy mornings, cosy dark evenings in front of a warm open fire, it is all here.
Off-season are also a time when traffic is scarce, and the stress level is down to zero, just a time to relax and enjoy.
As we enjoy walking and are lovers of this most beautiful area, we are able to advise on all aspects of your holiday. Whatever your interests, we are here to help you to make the absolute most out of your holiday.
Here you can go walking along the beach paths, or climbing mountains.
Several famous authors made the Lake District their home, and their houses are open for the public to see. A day in 'Beatrix Potters World' in Bowness, or why not see William Wordsworth's home, 'Dove Cottage' in Grasmere.
In this astonishing part of England, you can find almost anything to do, for everyone. Feel very welcome to contact us for more information.
