Tantallon House near Hadrian's Wall Cumbria
We offer a peaceful getaway spot and an ideal gateway to the many places of interest in this area.
We have two spacious twin guestrooms with glorious views of the Irthing Valley and Hadrian's Wall. Guests have private dining and lounge rooms to eat and relax in.
We have car parking, wireless Internet and a beautiful owl in an aviary in our garden who has proven very popular with our guests.
As a family-run business in a rural community, we aim to run our bed and breakfast accommodation in an environmentally friendly way, thereby promoting sustainable tourism. This includes everyday energy reduction and the encouragement of local wildlife.
We purchase local produce, where possible, to support the region's farmers, as this in turn maintains the agricultural character of the area and improves our environment. Local products generally include Cumberland sausages, bacon, free-range farm eggs, honey and fruit preserves.
Being on Hadrian's Wall National Trail, Tantallon House offers an especially warm welcome to walkers and cyclists. As well as great facilities, we have knowledge of routes and hikes around the local historic Roman sites.
The Hadrian's Wall National Trail at 84 miles long passes through some of the most beautiful parts of England. The trail provides access to some of the best sections of the Wall whilst using a rich variety of public paths. Cyclists may want a long distance tour or a short ride cycle along Sustrans Hadrian's Cycleway with well-surfaced gravel cycle paths and quiet minor roads.
