The Old Station House

The Old Station House is a period property built in 1850 situated in the village of Rowsley on the border of the Peak District National Park. We are a small, family-run B&B with just three guest bedrooms, all with TV/DVD players, WiFi, hospitality trays and shower ensuites.

We pride ourselves on making our guests feel at home by providing them with everything they need to discover the best of the beautiful Peak District! Our relaxing guest lounge is stocked with a wealth of information on the local area including maps and guidebooks for guests to borrow. We also provide an information folder in each guest room stocked with details on local eateries, places of interest and guided walks from the village to a variety of local attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Peak Rail and the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor - all within just three miles of The Old Station House.

Our breakfast is prepared with the very best local free range produce and we bake our own bread. A full English or vegetarian breakfast - or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for those seeking a lighter option - is included in the price, together with cereal, toast, fresh grapefruit and yoghurt.

We have free off-road parking and secure bicycle storage and our front entrance conservatory with its stone floor is ideal for storing muddy boots and wet outdoor clothing.

The Old Station House is a unique period property, built in 1850 for the station master of Rowsley's new railway station by Joseph Paxton who went on the next year to design the famous Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition in London!

Rowsley is a quaint Derbyshire village situated at the meeting point of the beautiful Wye and Derwent Valleys. In the village you will find a working mill museum and Craft Centre (Caudwell's Mill), two upmarket restaurants, a village pub and the Peak Village shopping centre. Footpath walks lead from Rowsley in every direction through the National Park and Derbyshire Dales.

Our location, attention to detail and delicious freshly prepared breakfasts bring guests back to The Old Station House year after year. If you are looking for a value-for-money B&B conveniently located for the best that the Peak District has to offer then The Old Station House really is second to none.
