Castleneuk Guest House

Castleneuk Guest House is located in the village of Castleside (2 miles from Consett) and provides easy access to areas such as Northumberland and Hadrian's Wall, Durham, Newcastle, the North Pennines, Cumbria and the Lake District, Teesdale, and of course the Scottish Borders. In addition we are just 1 mile north of the C2C cycle route and have many other recognised walks within easy reach.

The 4 guest rooms we have available are all ensuite and provide 2 x double rooms (with kingsize beds) and 2 x double/twin rooms (with single beds which can also be made into doubles as required). We offer evening meals and packed lunches, and have a guest lounge with sofas, books, maps, local guides and games to make your stay as comfortable and 'homely' as possible. Our dining room has views over open countryside and gives access to an enclosed garden/patio area. We also have a secured covered area for bicycle storage and drying facilities for wet clothes. In addition we are dog friendly too - a maximum of 2 dogs per room is allowed at no extra cost.

We should also point out that all our bedrooms are on the first floor, and therefore the use of stairs is required.

All diets can be catered for (please try to tell us in advance to help with our preparation!) and our speciality is gluten free cooking.
