Thimbles Bed & Breakfast
At Thimbles you will enjoy a large house, decorated to a high standard. Here we enjoy 'the good life', if we can make it we do!
For breakfast you will enjoy home made bread, home dry cured and oak smoked bacon and hand made sausages from our rare breed pigs. The eggs all come from our collection of rare breed chickens that happily live in our orchard. We grow virtually all of our own fruit and vegetables.
You may fish, play badminton, table tennis, row on the lake or relax in the hammock on the island! Alternatively enjoy a walk around the grounds.
Fresh flowers are everywhere, we grow 89 varieties of rose. The garden is mature and beautiful.
We are very close to everything that East Sussex has to offer. There are many historical sights such as Rudyard Kiplings home, Battle Abbey, historical Hastings, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne. The area is a walkers, fishers and cyclists paradise. The South Downs present superb views and have wonderful ancient villages nestled beneath. This is a beautiful, quiet, peaceful and fascinating county, come and enjoy all it has to offer.
With prior bookings I am happy to provide evening meals and picnics. If you would like to do a day trip London I am happy to offer a drop and pick up service to our local railways station with some advance booking.
We are perfectly situated to accommodate Glyndebourne opera guests and we can arrange your transport with advance notice.
We have plenty of parking and there is plenty to enjoy for children.
