Riverside Guesthouse is a Visit Britain Four Star graded guesthouse situated in the quiet beautiful historic village of Roydon in Essex.

We have a single room a twin and a double room all en-suite, our twin room overlooks the beautiful River Stort. Each room has a TV a fridge/toaster/hairdryer, tea coffee facilities.

We offer a continental breakfast which is enjoyed in the comfort of your own room and consists of a choice of cereals, yoghurts, brown or white bread/ rolls, croissants/scones/buns, fresh fruit, juice, jams/marmalades butter tea/coffee/milk/water, meats and cheeses are available on request.

A trouser press is available for guests to use whenever they choose, ironing board and iron can be provided if required also a dry cleaning service can be arranged on request. Off road parking is available, airport taxi runs can be arranged, Riverside also offers a secluded private patio area for guests to enjoy and relax a cup of tea or coffee on a summers evening.

Riverside is a few minutes walk from the railway station, which serves London Liverpool Street and Cambridge. Stansted airport is also on this main line and is accessed by changing at Bishops Stortford or Broxbourne. There is also a bus service which runs from Roydon to Harlow and Epping although this is not a very frequent service.

Roydon borders the River Stort which has some lovely walks there is also the opportunity to do some fishing when in season or for the more energetic guests one can walk to Rye house and enjoy a drink at the local pub or on to the Fish and Eels pub near the junction of the river lee and on to Stanstad Abbots where you can enjoy a meal or just a drink alongside the Lee.

Harlow is only 10 mins away and has a new sports centre with a 25m swimming which is open to non-members, other facilities include a health spar, physiotherapy, massage, chiropodist acupuncture lounge and bar Harlow has a nine screen cinema only 10 mins from riverside guesthouse, Rye Mead nature reserve is a delightful wetland reserve beside the river lee its a favourite with walkers, birdwatchers and photographers, there are wheelchair friendly trails and ten hides and if your fortunate you will see kingfishers, common terns, snipe, green sandpipers, shovelers, gadwells and tufted ducks.

Rye Mead can be accessed via the toll road just outside Roydon just follow the brown dusk signs. Riverside guesthouse is open all year round, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.
