Brookfields Retreat

We do not let out the second room when a couple is already staying so you will have complete privacy. We also take single occupancy.

Jan & Brian welcome you to our homely B&B set on the edge of Hungerberry Copse, close to Countryside, Shanklin old village & Chine & nearby sandy beach. You can watch the pheasants being fed each morning and the Red Squirrels raiding their Squirrel Box or the wild bird feeders during the day. Wed also have woodpeckers visit along with an array of other wild birds.

A hearty or light breakfast is provided, overlooking the peaceful woodland setting; dietry requirements must be mentioned in advance. The eggs are laid by our neighbours hens and the sausages are local burchers hand made. Guests are free to enjoy the gardens on a private patio with it's own table, chairs & parasol.

TV/DVD, freeview, clock, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, bubble bath, all linen & towels provided and there is plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases.

Off road parking is available but for our guests who enjoy walking or cycling the island boasts over 500 miles of footpaths and has cycle ways, mountain bike trails and a signposted 'Round the island cycle route' many in areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is storage for cycles.

Shanklin's fabulous sandy beach stretches into Sandown & Yaverland beyond and lies adjacent a lovely promenade with its mixture of cafes and beach huts dotted along the way. There is a beautiful cliff top walk for those romantic evenings with breathtaking views over the bay & downs beyond, which flank this historic seaside town. A bus route is nearby which takes you around the island or into Newport, the Central Town.

There are numerous cafes & restaurants within walking distance for lunch or dinner, some of which are in the Old Town with its Beautiful Chocolate Box Thatched Cottages.
