Pine Point Bed & Breakfast
Pine Point was designed and built in 1961. It remains largely unaltered with beautiful hardwood flooring and spiral staircase. The facilities and standard of hospitality, however, are far cry from bed and breakfast in the sixties. Think contemporary guesthouse rather than seaside landlady. Our bed linen is pure cotton, our coffee freshly ground and our hot water continuous.
On the ground floor there are two double rooms, each with en suite bathrooms. One has sliding glass doors to the garden, the other has triple aspect windows and can be made into a family room with the addition of a single bed and/or cot.
Upstairs there is a suite with a double room and a twin room, which share an en suite bathroom and a small sitting area. The suite is not suitable for children under eight because of the spiral staircase.
Each double room has a TV, DVD, tea and coffee kit plus mineral water, fresh fruit, books and local guides. WIFI is accessible throughout Pine Point and there is ample off-street parking.
Breakfast is not cooked (mainly due to the unreliable supply of free-range bacon and sausages) but always includes hot rolls and croissants, conserves, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts and seasonal fruits such as strawberries and blackberries from the summer garden or homemade compote in the winter
The focal point of Pine Point is the huge sundeck with its spectacular sea views. In fact, all the rooms (except the bathrooms!), have sea views. Each is furnished in an eclectic mix of laid back retro and modern design. The emphasis at Pine Point is on comfort and relaxation with breakfast served at a time to suit you – in your room or on the sun deck where you can also chill out on the loungers.
