Bay Tree Cottage Bed & Breakfast
Bay Tree Cottage is a recently renovated 17th century house set on the outskirts of the delightful village of Wingham. This small, friendly, family run B&B offers a high standard of comfortable accommodation in a peaceful setting, with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside.
It is conveniently situated in a conservation area mid way between the historic city of Canterbury and the delightful Cinque Port town of Sandwich. Six miles from the A2, it has quick and easy access to the Channel ports, tunnel and M2 motorway. Central London is 90 minutes by train. The nearest station is 4 miles away.
The accommodation offered is a double en-suite and a twin room, which has an en-suite WC and washbasin with a separate shared bathroom with shower. Both rooms have lovely views over the surrounding countryside.
We prefer to only let two rooms at a time for a family group that wish to stay. We are happy to accommodate children, in the parents' room if preferred. Babysitting may also be available at no cost although not guaranteed.
The coastal towns of Dover, Deal and Walmer, all within a 30 minute drive, have interesting castles to explore. The coastal resorts of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs are also within a 30 minute drive.
As well as a local pay-and-play golf course, there are a number of first class golf courses, including the Royal Sandwich which was the venue for The Open in 2011.There are a variety of country parks and nature reserves within easy reach. Stodmarsh Nature Reserve is just a 10 minute drive. Howletts Wild Animal Park, well known for its gorillas, tigers and conservation work, is less than a 10 minutes drive away. Goodnestone Park garden with its connection to Jane Austen is only 2 miles away.
