Elmsted Court Farm

Relax and unwind in our late 14th century farmhouse on a working sheep and arable farm set in the tiny hamlet of Elmsted within the Kent Downs an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Our accommodation comprises of spacious en-suite bedrooms with television, fridge, refreshment tray, sofa and many little extras.
We are family friendly and a cot and high chair together with toys can be provided.

A traditional English breakfast is served in our oak beamed dining room with inglenook fireplace, using locally sourced produce when in season, and our very own free range hens eggs.

We farm approximately 500 acres of cereals, wheat, barley, rape, grassland and have 350 breeding ewes which lamb in February, guests are able to see new lambs being born. We are very conscious of sustainability and the environment and have taken steps to encourage ground nesting birds and breeding areas for mice and voles to support the local owl and kestrel population. The whole farm supports a large population of badgers, rabbits and hares.

Our pond supports breeding pairs of wild ducks, wagtails, swifts, swallows and dragonflies.

We are less than 10 miles from Ashford, Canterbury, Folkestone and Hythe and conveniently situated for the Channel Ports.

A perfect destination for exploring the delights of Kent, be it the varied coastline from Whitstable to Dungeness including many seaside towns in between. Castles galore including the popular Dover and Leeds. Howletts and Port Lympne animal parks plus many others. Vineyards at Biddenden and Tenterden, Shepherd Neame Brewery at Faversham. The Cathedral City of Canterbury, the Romeny Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, and many shopping centres, the list is endless.

If you prefer to explore on foot there is a maze of public footpaths offering breathtaking scenery along the way, including the North Downs Way, enchanting villages and many good local pubs offering excellent food and beers.

For those who enjoy sport we are within easy reach of the St Lawrence Cricket Ground at Canterbury, Folkestone Race Course, and numerous golf courses
