Bay Tree Cottage Bed & Breakfast, Fakenham, Norfolk
Bay Tree Cottage is the family home of Paul and Sarah Hughes, in the old market town of Fakenham, north Norfolk. We are conveniently located for many of North Norfolk’s beautiful coastal areas and a great base for anyone interested in:
Cycling: (National Cycle Route 1 goes through Fakenham - and we have cycle storage available).
Walking: we are a short drive or bus ride from Peddars Way and North Norfolk Coast Path - and can provide maps and advice.
Bird Watching: so many reserves near here - Titchwell, Cley and Sculthorpe Moor for instance.
Sailing: at Blakeney or Wells
Beach Holidays: all across North Norfolk, there are miles of lovely beaches, often almost empty.
Photography: wonderful skies, lovely beaches backed by pines, bright yellow rapeseed fields, wildlife opportunities...the list is a long one!
Fakenham itself is a pleasant and friendly little market town with a general market and auction every Thursday and a number of attractive riverside walks - the children will love feeding the ducks and chickens.
We can provide maps and practical advice on all these activities, to help you get the most out of your time here.
Free wi-fi is available. We have off-street parking for two cars.
We provide friendly and comfortable accommodation (non smoking), which we believe, combines high quality with great value for money. Our three-course breakfasts receive many favourable comments and we can also offer evening meals if requested in advance. Alternatively we can direct you to several good restaurants in Fakenham and nearby. There is also an excellent local chippy with restaurant!
We are concerned for your safety. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises. We have upgraded our fire alarm system and all rooms now have mains-powered smoke alarms with battery back-up.
The main room we offer is a twin bedded room with en suite toilet, washbasin and shower. This room has TV and radio with DVD player, full tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and iron and ironing board. The second room is smaller and has no TV and has use of the family bathroom. Both rooms are very comfortable and quiet, and you are welcome to use our south-facing garden.
All guests are welcomed with home made biscuits and flowers in their rooms. We have been here four years and we are proud to say that we get regular repeat business. We aim to make your stay a very pleasant one.
