Bed & Breakfast at Bramble House

With its market towns steeped in history, peaceful and picturesque villages, beautiful beaches, and miles of rural woodland, perfect for walkers, wildlife and heaps of country pubs, North Norfolk will not disappoint.

Bramble House is family run, centrally located with private parking where we invite you to relax in comfort. The room is ensuite with shower and bath. Every effort will be made to make your stay a pleasurable one, with attention to detail at all times.
Our superb central location will allow you to enjoy a meal by the river, a quiet country walk or the opportunity to take in a theatre show, whatever takes your fancy.

Nearby Stalham is a great place to start exploring. Sea Palling and Waxham are small villages only 10 minutes from Stalham. Both have miles of award winning beaches and unique areas of unspoilt natural beauty, launching facilities for pleasure craft, duty lifeguards in high season and ample car parking. Water sports from swimming to jet skiing are all part of Palling life.

Waxham has a rural beach, where seals are seen close in-shore and later in the season with pups on the beach. Waxham village is home to one of the largest tithe barns in the country, built in the sixteenth century providing refreshments in a historical setting. Stalham and Sutton lie at the northern end of the Norfolk Broads, with both villages connected to the River Ant.

The river flows downstream to Barton Broad, How Hill and Ludham Bridge, through some of the most beautiful scenery. Stalham is a major starting point for Norfolk Broads boating holidays. The Staithe, or riverside wharf, is as important today as it was when ancient cargo vessels used to ship goods to Yarmouth. Now the Staithe is busy with pleasure boats and Broads cruisers and also hosts the Museum of the Broads (with plenty for all ages, picnic area and tearoom).

Nearby Wroxham and Hoveton St. John are two connected villages, split by the River Bure. Boats of all kinds are available for hire (you can either sit back and enjoy live commentary, refreshments and licensed bar on a Broads Tour, or enjoy the freedom of hiring a day boat or canoe).

Wroxham offers an array of pubs, restaurants, shops and a large department store that claims to be the world's largest village store. It has many attractions including a riverside park, the Bure Valley steam railway, Hoveton Hall Gardens (with children's activity trails, a rare 19th Century glasshouse and guided tours) and Wroxham Barns Craft Centre with craft studios, a brewery, gifts, clothes, country food and a chance to meet farmyard animals, a children's funfair and mini golf course. Wroxham is busy in high season, but well worth a visit at any time of the year.

Cycling is another perfect way to get around and explore and you could combine this with a train trip too. The Bittern Line links Norwich to Wroxham and the coast, with countryside stops along the way. At the Norfolk Broads Cycling Centre between Hoveton and Horning you can hire bikes and tandems from Broadland Cycle Hire.
