The Hawthornes

Our 2 ground floor bedrooms are comfortably furnished, with traditional furniture, comfortable beds, tea trays, televisions, radio alarm, hairdryers, bath robes, spare blankets and a fan heater (as radiator back-up).

Our lemon bedroom has brand new twin beds and overlooks the garden and summer house. Our pink bedroom accommodates a king sized bed. We are also able to put a single bed or cot in this room, if required.

On the first floor we have a double room with beautiful views over the garden and open countryside. Super king-sized brass bed and antique pine furniture.

Breakfast is cooked on our Aga, home baked bread, local farmers market bacon, sausages, home made jams and marmalade, even our own free range eggs. Yorkshire honey supplied by Brian from Staxton.

Evening meal available by request and homemade cakes and produce available to take home.

Lockable cycle barn and ample car parking available on site.

We are situated in the pretty village of Middleton, bordering Pickering. We have the Middleton Arms pub around the corner, Blacksmiths restaurant 5 minutes walk away and post office and garage within the village.

Pickering is a pleasant 20 minute walk away, where all the usual town facilities can be found, as well as the NYMR Railway, Pickering Castle, Beck Isle Museum.
We are ideally situated for visiting the coastal resorts of Sandsend, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes, Filey, Scarborough to name a few. Why not visit Bempton in May/June to try and catch a glimpse of the Puffins? This is the best (and noisiest) time to see the birds nesting.

Within half an hours drive, we have the historic City of York with its beautiful Minster and ancient walls. The market towns of Kirbymoorside and Helmsley only 20 minutes away.

Stunning Dalby Forest is a mere 15 minute drive away,(or do as we do and cycle from here) with lots of new facilities opening, including a new visitor centre and Go Ape- a treetop climbing and abseiling experience. Also new bike tracks have been opened and cycle hire is available in the forest.

All this on our doorstep, you will be spoilt for choice. Not to mention, a whole host of gardens and museums to be visited.
