The Anchorage Guest has for the second row in a year been awarded a Trip Advisor 5 star award for excellence and has just been awarded a 5 star rating for food hygiene.
The 3 rooms, One single, one double and one twin room are all en-suite and are very comfortable and well equipped. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV's and coffee and tea making facilities.
We offer a choice of breakfast including the ever popular full English cooked breakfast made with locally made sausages from Fairbairns butchers b, Coming a close second in popularity is Scottish smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. we also offer vegetarian and other options by prior arrangement. A range of de caff, fruit and specialty tea is also available.
The Anchorage Guest House is conveniently placed for the Maltings Art Centre, local restaurants, art galleries, museums and other attractions in the Town. The town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is located on the main east coast Railway and is only 45 minutes from Edinburgh to the north and 45 minutes from Newcastle to the south .
London is less than 4 hours away. Berwick is also well served by bus services and is an excellent centre to explore the Scottish Borders. Berwick is a very popular centre for walking and cycling holidays due to the interesting and varied countryside around the town.
Berwick is one of the most historic towns in Great Britain, A former Royal Scottish Borough and at on time the busiest port in the country the town has been fought over many times and has changed hands between England and Scotland 14 Times!
Berwick has one of the most complete sets of Tudor fortifications in the country and it is possible to see the remains of the earlier fortifications dating from the reign of King Edward the 1st outside the Tudor walls.
