Meadowsweet Farm
Meadowsweet Farm is in a pretty valley on the west side of the Quantock Hills in the hamlet of Newton. There are 4 self contained cottages sleeping 2-9 people - The Wagon House (sleeps 3), The Dairy (sleeps 3 or 4), The Mill (sleeps 4) & The Barn ( sleeps 9). Breakfast is served either in the farmhouse or provided in the cottage for guests to prepare at their leisure.
The farm extends to 30 acres of meadows & woodland over which visitors are free to wander. There is a small brook for fun fishing & train spotters can enthuse over the picturesque & nostalgic views of the West Somerset Steam Railway. Chickens roam the farmyard & provide fresh free range eggs.
Within a mile is the pretty village of Bicknoller with Thatched cottages & red stone houses a 15th century church, Inn serving food & village shop. Paths lead from the village to the top ridge of the Quantock Hills with breath taking views.
Bicknoller is 3 miles from Williton (banks, newsagent, post office, pubs & restaurants), 14 miles north of the county town of Taunton (shopping, theatre, cinema, tenpin bowling, cricket & racecourse), 5 miles from Watchet (old harbour town & beach) & Minehead is 12 miles (shopping, beach, harbour & golf). Five miles west of Bicknoller are the Brendon Hills & then Exmoor national Park.
West Somerset offers visitors the peace & tranquility of the Quantock Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with wonderful scenery & views. The coast runs from the fossil beaches at Kilve towards Watchet marina/harbour taking in the alabaster cliffs to Blue Anchor Bay & then onto the town of Minehead. Further on from Minehead are the bays & beaches of Bossington, Porlock & Porlock weir.
