Lavender Blue B&B
Lavender Blue B&B is the ideal base for exploring the Suffolk coast, Minsmere RSPB reserve, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness.
We have one double and one twin guest room, both equipped with TV, WiFi, coffee/tea facilities and writing desks.
We serve a full English breakfast using local ingredients, but also offer lighter options if preferred. In summer, when soft fruit is in season, strawberries are often served as part of the breakfast fruit selection, while local blueberries find their way into our tasty muffins.
We're always happy to give advice on local attractions.
Children enjoy a trip to nearby Thorpeness to feed the ducks or take a boat ride on the famous Meare, or a walk in the woods where deer can often be spied, especially at dusk. Leiston's famous Long Shop steam museum is a must, as is the small but excellent museum at nearby Dunwich, the city that sank beneath the waves.
The beach is only five minutes away from the house. It is shingle but we can tell you where to find a sandy spot. Leiston has a cinema and a sports centre with swimming pool. Visit Snape Maltings, home of the famous opera house, where you can browse the many craft shops or take a trip on the river.
There are plenty of good restaurants in the area and we can make bookings for you if you like. We enjoy welcoming guests into our home and try to be as helpful as we can without being too intrusive.
Annual events in the area include the Aldeburgh Carnival in late August, which finishes with a wonderful firework display. In November, poetry-lovers are in for a treat when the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival takes place. The Aldeburgh Festival attracts music lovers from all over the world.
