Valley Farm House, Nr Aldeburgh

Handy for Aldeburgh, Snape, Southwold, Minsmere bird reserve and the beautiful Suffolk coast, Valley Farm House B&B is deep in the Suffolk countryside on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The house itself is 17th century and Grade II listed, with a pretty garden and orchard.

We have a good sized double bedroom with TV/DVD, private shower room and views over the garden. A smashing Full English breakfast, in the beamed dining room, features our own eggs and bread, and local produce. There's some other yummy alternatives too for the smaller appetite.

Within a mile there are great village pubs in Middleton and Theberton, and some excellent restaurants for most budgets within easy reach. We would be happy to give you some recommendations!

If you like the countryside, we've got beautiful walks right outside the door, and long beaches nearby. The local towns are small enough to have avoided the onslaught of the chain stores, and you'll find some remarkable boutiques, delis, antique shops and farm stores. There are some great ones at Snape Maltings.

The big thing at Snape Maltings is the world famous Aldeburgh Festival of Music in June - in fact there are musical events there most of the year too.

Aldeburgh carnival is in August; little Thorpeness has an August carnival too, where the floats really float! Both have fantastic fireworks afterwards.

Birdwatchers (or birders, to be correct) love us, not just because we are just 3 miles from the Minsmere bird reserve. The woods, fields, hedgerows and wetlands are full of our feathered friends with Avocet, Marsh Harriers and even Bittern.
