Britten House

Britten House birthplace and family home of the composer Benjamin Britten was converted to a B& in 2007 and was opened with a 5 star rating which has been maintained and added to.

Not only are all our rooms en-suite, but we have an excellent hot water system which pumps lovely softened hot water around the building to ensure our guest have an uninterrupted supply of constant water at the required temperature.

We offer a variety of styles of rooms, all with quality furnishings comfortable chairs or sofas, digital TV's, fridge, hair drier and a well stocked hospitality tray.

Car parking on site is free and there is unrestricted parking on the road at the front of Britten House.

Breakfast is cooked freshly with a range of local products. No need to pre-order.

Southwold is a must for a day visit, take a tour of Adnams Brewery or visit Southwold Pier, don't miss the Boating lake and tearooms for home made refreshments.
Enjoy the lovely market town of Beccles.
Walbeswick is the place to go crabbing.
Enjoy a trip on the water at Oulton Broad.

Relax on Lowestoft Blue Flag beach located directly below Britten House.
Power boat racing throughout the summer is on Oulton Broad.
A great historical visit is Somerleyton Hall and gardens with its lovely maze. Fritton Lake is close by. Why not combine the two.

Great Yarmouth is a fun day out with its pleasure beach and horse drawn carriage tours.

Corton, Hopton, and Bludeston are all local villages to stroll round. Don't miss Holly's garden centre.

While staying at Britten House, have a wander through our lovely little parish of Kirkley and enjoy individual shops and eateries.
