Wonderful free-range breakfasts with locally produced bacon and sausages, homemade bread, jams and juices. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements catered for. Ample secure parking, free WiFi.
Close by are some of the most beautiful walks in England. Savernake forest, the historic Ridgeway, Kennet and Avon canal and the pretty market town of Marlborough. The surrounding countryside is one of the richest in England for ancient landmarks including Stonehenge (25 min.) and Avebury (15 min) circles. East Kennet long barrow is one of the oldest structures on the planet and pre dates the Egyptian pyramids.
Drawing, painting and sculpting classes are held every week in two studios adjoining the property and lessons can be tailored to your ability, from the complete beginner to the advanced artist.
Individual tuition £10 per hour( materials extra).Sculpting is done in either terra cotta clay which can be fired and sent on to you, or soapstone, a wonderful soft marble -like stone that can be highly polished.
The studios, with or without tuition are available on request.
