The Haven at Avebury
The Haven offers a range of choice for the traveller as the accommodation comprises a small kitchenette and retreat packages for those desiring a complete breakaway. Guests are enabled to stay for one night or several. The accommodation comprises a small suite of three rooms and in addition the conservatory attached to the main house can be made available for use. The garden is also freely available for guests to enjoy.
The rear of the property offers panoramic views, across fields, of the 'Adam and Eve' longstones, Windmill Hill and the Cherhill monument where one of the white horses lies alongside. The hamlet is a short walk from the main village where the local famous Red Lion pub lives, offering a good welcome and food for the traveller. The village also has a National Trust café, museum and shop and there is a community local shop where most produce is available. The majority of the more commonly known Avebury sites are walkable from the property and are within approx. a 2 mile radius of The Haven.
The closest Town is Marlborough which has a thriving community and markets on Saturday and Wednesday. Marlborough has some lovely shops, places to eat and pretty walks by the river. Devizes with its string of locks is also only a few miles away. The woods and forests of Clatford and Savernake are also within a few miles.
Included in the stay is a vegetarian breakfast which can be eaten in the guests own suite, in the conservatory or outside at one of the garden tables if desired. Guests have a selection of beverages; tea, coffee, fruit teas and fresh filtered water placed in the rooms. Wi fi is freely available and soap and towels are placed in the guest shower room. Guests have use of private fridge and microwave and beverage making facilities.
Check in is at 5 pm and check out at 10 am. Arrangements can be made to drop bags off. Parking is free, in a quiet side road next to the cottages.
The Haven is a non smoking venue but considerate smoking away from the house is permitted. We do advise that guests bring torches with them as street lighting is sparse in the Avebury area and walking home from the Red Lion at night could prove interesting without one!
A range of therapies are also available at The Haven, which compliment the peaceful and relaxing energy of the site.
