Alencon Chambres d'Hôtes
If you're looking for a charming B&B in the French countryside with access to sights in both Normandy and the Loire, if you like exploring gardens, pretty villages and castles unknown to the common crowds, if you want to relax in beautiful surroundings, then look no further.
On the border of southern Normandy and Pays de la Loire, close to the medieval town of Alençon and Le Mans, this 18th-century stone-and-timber farmhouse benefits from a tranquil location in private grounds with a wildfowl lake, beautiful gardens and views of farmland and forests beyond.
The accommodation comprises three immaculate en-suite guest rooms with showers. All rooms have characterful exposed beams and garden views, and are tastefully furnished and equipped with radio alarm, hair-dryer, toiletries and WiFi.
A well equipped sitting room with library, English and French magazines, tourist information and refreshments is at guests' disposal.
Picnic places are provided on the terraces and in the grounds.
For evening meals the village bar, restaurant and shops are just 200m away.
A wooded fishing lake, tennis courts, boules, mountain bike rental and walking routes are on hand. Close by there are riding stables, golf, canoe-kayak, rock climbing, bungee-jumping, quad biking, karting, medieval towns and villages, chateaux and gardens.
