Maison du Magnolia

We would like to welcome you to our beautiful period town house in the heart of Confolens town. With the garden backing onto the River and Vienne. All rooms are tastefully decorated and are central heated in the winter months and all have ensuite bathrooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in each room, plus many little extras. On sunny evening why not sit back with a glass of wine and watch the world go by under the shade of our magnificent Magnolia tree.

Restaurants and shops are within 1 minute of walking distance from our B&B.

The B&B has 3 guest rooms one is suitable for a families; the other is a double room with views of the river. The last room has twin beds - all rooms have ensuite bathrooms.

Tea and coffee and biscuits are available in each room and the guest lounge has a TV and DVD player. We have a good collection of dvd's to chose from. We have many books and magazines available which guests are welcome to borrow.

The breakfast room is on the ground floor where we serve a hearty continental breakfast. Breakfast can also be provided in the garden and the inner courtyard.

In the month of August Confolens has their annual music and dance festival, with groups of performers coming from all over the world (New Zealand, Africa, China, South America, Russia and many Europe countries).

Confolens is in easily reached from Angouleme airport (50 mins), Limoges airport (40 mins) and Poitiers airport (1 hour approx). All three cities have museums, gardens and other attractions to look at, including shops. Its also worth looking at some of the lovely old builds for a day out .In the Confolens area there are some lovely country walks starting off at a couple of kms to 15 plus.

Bikes can be hired from the local bike shop or you can try the velo-rail which starts at Confolens goes to Manot using a unused railway track it takes about 3 hours depending how fast you pedal .its hard work on the going leg but the return leg is most enjoyable.

In the Charente region you can visit La Rochelle, Vallee des Singes, Crocodille park, Futuroscope, Cognac, Oradour sur Glane and many more places.
