We offer Bed and breakfast in an old Normandy farmhouse overlooking the town of Burcy evening meals on request, steeped in history as far back as William the Conqueror through to the battles of World War Two.
With many cemeteries and memorials to be found. Bayeaux the Normandy landing beaches and Mont St Michel can all be easily reached Produce such as calvados brandy, cider, and the famous andouille sausage can be purchased from the various farms in the area.
Whether it is excitement or relaxation there is something for all to be had. We are within easy reach of Ouistreham, Le Havre and Cherbourg. The town of Caen is approx 35 miles and boasts many attractions, museums, castles, shopping even a theme park for the kids .Closer to Vire there is a large zoo, an ariel theme park including bungi jumping and zip slides a lake with water sports and fishing.
There is also a large golf course, ' velo rail' which is an old converted railway line with cycles connected to passenger seats. Vire also offers a number of good restaurants and bars ..
A local market is held every friday morning around the old clock tower. There are many bridleways to be found in the area and horse riding can be arranged for the more energetic. But if its peace and quiet you desire then why not stroll along the banks of the various rivers or around the many narrow hedgerows. Further afield you can visit Villedieu'les'Poeles ..Famous for its bell foundry and shops dealing with brass and copper.. Falaise.. The birthplace of William the Conqueror.
