La Montée is a picturesque farmhouse situated in the heart of the Charentais region overlooking the pretty village of Poursac and the surrounding countryside.

For the motor enthusiast out there, we have the Circuit duVal de Vienne offering a full calander of events and if you wish to experience first hand in a racing car: they have a driving school. There are many kart tracks within a short drive, one of which is Formula Kart Speedway at Angoulême. Angoulême also hosts an annual classic street racing event: Circuit International des Remparts.

If you are unlucky with the weather, there are still lots of places to visit, at Angoulême you can find the Nuatilis center which offers both an ice rink and a swimming pool complex, also in Angoulême is a bowling alley.

Only a few moments drive away is le Rejallant: not only a café/bar/restaurant situated on a plan d'eau with a man-made beach, you can also hire a canoe or kayak to travel a peaceful and scenic route down the river Charente.

Les Lacs de haute Charente are around a 45 mins drive away, where you can have a picnic, swim, hire pedalo's or just relax. For the more adventurous amongst you, there are designated cycle and walking routes, along with an adventure parc at Massignac.

If your passion is walking or cycling, then you will know that the best way to see beautiful countryside is on foot or on a bike. Most villages have their own walks shown on their information board or why not make your own! The Charente has a number of planned cycle routes, the closest one can be found here.
